Event - Sound Bath
with Miriam Lyon

May 12 (Friday)
at 7:00 pm

Class length
75 minutes

Location
Studio 330

Immerse yourself in the gentle embrace of a Sound Bath that guides you into a parasympathetic state - the part of your nervous system responsible for rest, restoration, and rejuvenation. Each immersive journey of the Fall Sound Bath series has a unique theme, inviting you to:

Soften, Ground, Release and Connect.

Vibrations from an array of carefully selected instruments become a delicate massage for all of your cells, tissues & organs, stimulating circulation and the release of toxins. Emotions find their own melody, rising and falling like the tides. Memories and thoughts rise to the surface to be enveloped by the sounds and then allowed to drift away. The experience invites you to surrender to the waves of sound, slowing down the breath, and allowing the body to relax.

You're offered a space to simply be, with invitations to follow along with guided imagery and meditations.

As the Sound Bath gradually concludes, you're guided back and have the opportunity to connect with others or quietly be on your way.

Your facilitator is Miriam Lyon, Certified Sound Therapist, Reiki Teacher & Practitioner & trained Yoga Teacher (among other qualifications). Miriam weaves in teachings from these trainings and years of experience of calming her own nervous system, intending for you to feel cared for, able to let things go, and to leave the experience feeling lighter and more grounded. Sound therapy has been shown to have many benefits, including improved sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, and an increased sense of well-being.

You can find Miriam in her cozy downtown location surrounded by nature, offering in person and virtual 1:1 and Small Group Sound Baths, as well as Reiki training courses (www.miriamlyon.com). Or in the West End at Natural Route Health, where she offers 1:1 Sound Baths (https://www.natural-route.com/reiki-sound-therapy).

Blocks, bolsters and blankets are available at the studio for your comfort. Bring your yoga mat, an eye cover, water or tea in a thermos, and anything else for you to set up a cozy space for the experience.

Arrive a little early to set up.

Note: crystal singing bowls and other instruments used can potentially aggravate those with pace-makers, hearing-aids, or sensitivity to loud sounds.
